The Patriots swept a double header Saturday when the Glendale Prep baseball team made the trip to Bullhead City to take on MALC. The first game was an 8-3 victory with junior catcher Jay Norton leading the offensive attack going 2-3 reaching base safely 3 times, with 4 stolen bases, and 2 RBI. The Patriot Varsity Baseball Squad continues to struggle defensively, and that is an understatement!!!! The Patriots Varsity Baseball Team has struggled defensively the past 2 weeks. First in Phoenix vs Foothills Academy the MALC squad gave up 12 runs, with a staggering 11 unearned. “Our pitching was not bad, we didn’t walk many hitters, we just could not make a play behind them” said Patriots coaching staff. The Patriots Varsity Baseball Team opened their season this past Saturday with a sweep of the Orme Spartans in a double header at their new home field at the community park. Junior Jay Norton threw a complete game with 5 strike outs, 1 hit by pitch, and he gave up 1 hit in the mercy rule shortened 4 inning game. Senior right fielder Tyler Wade, Sophomores Justyn Wright and Austen Emme, and 8th grader David Kloster fueled the Patriot offence in the 20-2 victory.

The Patriots varsity baseball team finished strong last Friday to take home the AZ Charter Athletics 2A State Championship at the Salt River Fields in Scottsdale, spring training home to the MLB Diamondbacks and Rockies.
