Middle School Basketball at BHC Jr. High

Published on January 12, 2012

Yesterday, our middle school basketball squads (grades 6-8) traveled several blocks to Bullhead City Junior High to take on their 8th grade teams. Our girls played a tough game against a good 8th grade opponent.  Even though they fell short, the team showed a lot of heart.  Jenah McIntyre had a block shot and MacKayla Crespo, Reyna Hartman, and Destiny Fidler did a good job rebounding.  Hailey showed glimpse of a bright future with at least 3 steals.

The boy’s team followed with a hard-fought victory over Bullhead 33-32.  Mason Kern played his best game to date for Coach Sharp, leading the team at point guard and playing great defense.  Matthew Garrett, Xander Perry, Nicholus Stickley-Jones, and Jonah Alonzo took over on defense and rebounding while providing the team with 19 steals.  Chris Alexander kept his scoring touch with 10 points including the game winning three.  Sharp noted, “This was a great game and I’m proud of the character my players demonstrated!”

Next Saturday, Jan. 21, the boys will play in the Mid-Season Classic Tournament at Fox Creek Junior High.  The first game will be at 8 am.
