Mohave Accelerated soccer squared of against Summit Academy in the second round of the state playoffs on Wednesday, May 12 in Phoenix. It was a tough match all the way to the end! Both teams were scoreless for 77 minutes before the Patriots gave up a goal leading to a 1-0 loss. Coach McIntyre said, "The team gave it their all for the whole 80 minutes. One goal wins are fun, but one goal losses hurt the most. I am very proud of our team. We had a great season." The Patriots finished the season 11-4.
MALC soccer advanced to the second round of the state playoffs by defeating the Scholar Stars 3-1 Monday night at Rotary Park. The Patriots started slow as the wind hampered the pace of the game. Scholars drew first blood at the 10 minute mark of the first half and held on to a 1-0 halftime lead.

MALC soccer put their six game winning streak on the line as they hosted Pan American from Phoenix. The Panthers over powered the Patriots by a score of 9-1. Pan American lead at the half 3-0 and never looked back. Marco Mejia scored in the second half for the Patriots only goal of the match. MALC needs to win its last game to remain in contention to host a first round game in the state playoffs. Patriot soccer returns to action this Wednesday to face Scholars Academy at Rotary Park. Game time is 5:30.
MALC traveled to Scholars for the tornado bowl of soccer. The Patriots notched another road win 4-0, in a match hampered by gusting winds. Cristian Badilla scored the only goal of the first half on a free kick from 25 yard out into the wind. It was a blast to the upper left corner of the net. With the wind at their backs, the Patriots scored quickly. 10 minutes into the half, Marco Mejia received a centering pass from Badilla for an easy smash shot past the keeper. MALC soccer defeated the Kingman Academy Tigers 6-5 to claim another road win and a clean sweep of the Kingman-Lake Havasu tri-city series. Marco Mejia led the way with a hat trick, scoring the Patriot's first goal and two more in the second half. Cristian Badilla sored two goals late in the first half. Kevin Garcia scored one goal late in the second half that proved to be the game winner. MALC was in control of the first 60 minutes of the match scoring six goals to Kingman's one. The Mohave Accelerated Patriots won all four of their games this week. They began the week in Laughlin on Monday. They posted a 9-5 win over the Cougars behind the pitching of Christian Bernal. Bernal had 7 strikeouts in the win as well as going 4-for-5 at the plate. Chris Warden went 4-for-5 with 2 runs scored and 3 stolen bases. Warden also earned the save by recording the final 4 outs.
The MALC soccer team scored another road victory as they defeated the Glendale Griffins 10-0 Tuesday night. Kiefer Hazlett led the way in the first half with a hat trick. Marco Mejia dominated the mid-field all game distributing passes that lead to 4 goals and scored 2 himself. Kevin Garcia and Ciarra Castillo each found the back of the net to end the first half. > Read More
Mohave Accelerated earned an impressive road win defeating the Telesis Tigers 5-2 on April 5th. The Tigers got out to an early 1 goal lead. Patriot Marco Mejia brought the equalizer on a breakaway pass from Cristian Badilla. The first half ended in a 1-1 tie. Two minutes into the second half Kevin Garcia beat the keeper with a laser to the corner. The MALC offense was now in high gear. Christian Badilla scored 5 goals to lead the Patriots to an 11 - 0 victory over the Imagine at Surprise Storm. MALC got out to an early 3 goal lead as coach McIntyre started going deep into his bench giving many young players quality playing time. The Patriots finished the half up 3-0.
