Spring Sports begin
The spring sports season is in full swing at Mohave Accelerated this week with practices for soccer, softball, and baseball all taking place.
The high school soccer team officially began its season with practice last Monday (Feb 2) at Rotary Park. This year, the team has a new head coach, Todd McIntryre, who has five years experience coaching AYSO soccer in the area. Practices are held each night (M-F) from 5:30pm to 7pm and the first week saw approximately 20 players out each evening.
With 14 games on the schedule, the soccer season will officially kick off this Wednesday (Mar 3) with a home game against the Kingman Academy Of Learning Tigers. The game will be played at Rotary Park at 5:30pm.
Coach McIntyre is still putting his roster together with only 7 practices before the first game but noted that, "Defense wins championships." Expect a strong defensive effort, though he also mentioned that this year's team has several strong offensive players as well and the season should be a strong one for MALC.
Come out and support your Patriot soccer team this week for their first game against Kingman Academy!
